Brushing also helps lift the pile and prevents the "crushing" effect, which is the flattening of the fibers in areas where we sit or lean most often. 1-2 times a year, thoroughly refresh the velvet upholstery. Wipe the entire fabric gently with a wet solution of a neutral cleaning agent, such as dishwashing liquid mixed with water. Then, wipe it again with a clean, damp sponge or cloth to remove any detergent residue. Allow it to air dry naturally. Apply thin layers of the cleaning solution and immediately remove any excess. If too much cleaning solution is absorbed into the fabric, it may become stiff. After cleaning, wipe the treated area thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth to remove the cleaning solution and prevent watermarks. Avoid using hot water to remove stains, especially organic ones, as it may set the stains. After removing the stain, let the fabric air dry at room temperature.
