Avoid vigorous and forceful rubbing to prevent damaging the velvet's pile. If necessary, repeat the cleaning process, widening the cleaned area around the stained spot. Apply thin layers of the cleaning solution and immediately remove any excess. If too much cleaning solution is absorbed into the fabric, it may become stiff. After cleaning, wipe the treated area thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth to remove the cleaning solution and prevent watermarks. Avoid using hot water to remove stains, especially organic ones, as it may set the stains. After removing the stain, let the fabric air dry at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer or any other direct source of heat. During this time, avoid sitting on the sofa as the upholstery may deform.
