Centaur is a bouclé upholstery fabric with a spectacularly soft texture. Its distinctive 3D structure is composed of tiny, twisted knots. This irregularity is noticeable to the touch, yet the fabric remains soft and smooth. The fabric has a slight sheen, giving it a cozy and comfortable appearance while imparting a warm and chic look to modern furniture. Centaur also boasts practical properties. WaterStop technology prevents room-temperature liquids from penetrating the fabric. A hydrophobic coating protects the surface against liquid absorptions. The fabric has a certificate that guarantees resistance against abrasion and stains. The versatile color palette aligns with the latest interior trends.
Cleaning tips
Furniture upholstered with bouclé fabric should be cleaned every week or two using a soft brush or gently vacuumed with a low-power vacuum cleaner equipped with a special upholstery attachment. This way, you can remove dust and debris without allowing them to penetrate deep into the fibers. You can also use a lint roller to remove loose fuzz or sticky tape. Once or twice a year, thoroughly refresh the bouclé upholstery. Wipe the entire fabric with a wet solution of a neutral cleaning agent, such as dishwashing liquid mixed with water. Then wipe it again with a clean, damp sponge or cloth to remove the detergent. Allow it to air dry naturally. You can also use specialized upholstery cleaning products following the manufacturer's instructions. In case of stains or spills, gently blot the liquid with a dry cloth or paper towel. To remove stains from mud, ketchup, mayonnaise, yogurt, or lipstick, gently collect the remnants of the substance. For cleaning, use mild neutral detergents such as dishwashing liquid or mild soap, mixed with lukewarm water in proportions of one teaspoon of detergent to two cups of water. Strong cleaners and bleaches can damage the upholstery. Avoid trying to remove stains, especially organic ones, with hot water, as they may set in. Clean the soiled surface with gentle, circular motions from the outside toward the center. Avoid vigorous and strong rubbing to prevent damaging the fabric's structure. If necessary, repeat the process, expanding the cleaned area around the stained spot to prevent rings. Before starting the cleaning, perform a test of the cleaning agent on an inconspicuous part of the furniture to avoid damaging the fabric. After removing the stain, allow the fabric to air dry at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer or any other direct source of heat. During this time, avoid sitting on the sofa as the upholstery may become distorted.
